Thrift Shopping

Thrift shopping is a G O L D mine of eclectic pieces of clothing, housewares, shoes, accessories, and so much more. Between thrift shops and consignment shops, the amount of hidden treasures are endless.

If you're new to the blog, I have been working at a consignment shop for the past six years. It's so fun to see all of the new clothing and accessories come through the doors... including items with brand new tags at a fraction of the price. If you're a "label" person, there are always items to find if you take the time to look! I recently just bought a spotless black Michael Kors wallet at a consignment shop for less than $40 that retails for over $130! I've come across many good deals like this over the past few years. All of my favorite brands from J. Crew to Loft, from Banana Republic to Vineyard Vines.

I would always allow some time to go through the thrift/consignment stores. They are generally organized to some extent but because of the limitless options that are dropped off to the stores, it's almost impossible to have things completely organized. Often times, the more time you have the better treasures you find.

I also recommend going into a stores like these without any certain things in mind. I hear feedback from customers almost daily that they "didn't come in for anything specific," but they go out with multiple items that they love.

Even when I go on vacation, I often google for consignment shops and thrift stores in the area. There are so many good things to find. You know what they say, "one man's trash is another man's treasure".... and with thrift stores... the possibilities are endless.

If you live in South-Central Pennsylvania or Northern Maryland; a few of my favorite consignment shops are both ACT 2's (one in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and one in Hagerstown, Maryland), Community Aid in Hanover and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, New Life Thrift Store in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and occasionally I stop in a Goodwill on a whim.

Do you have a favorite consignment or thrift shop in your area that you love?

Thanks for following along! ~ xoxo
